Peppol BIS 3.0 Invoice Validator

Drop a Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 UBL file. See it as a readable invoice and check the EN 16931 core rules.

Files are processed in memory and never stored.

Peppol invoices

Peppol is the delivery network used for mandatory B2B e-invoicing in Belgium (since 1 January 2026), for B2G invoicing in the Netherlands, the Nordics and many other countries. The document that travels over Peppol is a UBL 2.1 invoice or credit note with the customization ID urn:cen.eu:en16931:2017#compliant#urn:fdc:peppol.eu:2017:poacc:billing:3.0.

Access points usually validate before sending, but files are often forwarded by e-mail, exported from accounting software or produced by in-house code. This page lets you check such a file before it is sent, or understand why one was rejected.

Scope of the check

Peppol documents run through the two official OpenPeppol rule sets, release 3.0.20 (November 2025): the CEN EN 16931 business rules (about 200 checks, BR-*, BR-CO-*, BR-S-* and so on) and the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 rules (PEPPOL-EN16931-R001 to R121, plus the country rules for Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece and others). These are the same schematron files access points use, so a document that passes here passes at the access point; one that fails shows the rule ID, the flag (fatal or warning) and the path to the element.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Peppol ID and where do I find mine?

A Peppol participant identifier is usually your VAT or company number with a scheme prefix, for example 0208:0123456789 for a Belgian company. Your access point or accounting software shows it, and the public Peppol Directory lets you search for any registered company.

Can I validate a credit note?

Yes. UBL CreditNote documents are detected and rendered like invoices with the type shown in the header.
